I don't mean protest or riot or terrorize people, innocent or otherwise. I mean have some common sense and a weapon close to hand. If the police won't protect you, be responsible for your own security.

If you don't like pepper spray ruining your eyes, bring goggles. If you don't want to get concussed by a flag pole or a protest sign, bring a helmet. If you don't want anyone within spitting distance of you, trying to lay hands on you or your's, come armed with a gun visibly on your hip; and make damn sure that if you unholster it, you aim to kill. Nice time is past gone.

It's time for the passive conservatives and liberals, who obeyed the law and respected the election results, who aren't protesting, who aren't having a rabid temper tantrum, to show their teeth. If that means some idiot getting belly shot, because he/she tried throwing bricks at someone, then boo-fucking-hoo. Honestly, I think the only reason these insufferable little shits have been so gung-ho to beat people nearly to death is because they've never tasted lead: and if it takes one ANTIFA "protester" bleeding out on the ground to snap these kids out of this nihilistic nonsense, then I'll lament the wasted lives but not the result. Nor will I blame the rational attendee for trying to go to a talk and ending up, out of self-preservation, taking a human life. It's ugly stuff, ladies and gentlemen, but some lessons are learned the hard way; and you can't always blame the reluctant and incidental teacher. Appeasing violent terrorists, and that's what the black block are, only incentivizes them.

If you are in a town or a university that prohibits firearms, bring knives; if a knife is too dangerous for your taste, bring a bludgeon. For centuries common household items doubled as weapons, be part of that martial tradition. Do not seek preemptive violence, that's only violence by another name. Don't kill unless attacked, because no one deserves the right to brutally attack you; and if they're willing to risk death to try, then, well, that's their prerogative. They should have learned as toddlers not to hit people, because they hit back; and they don't take requests how hard.

Just be smart about all this and defend yourselves, ladies and gentlemen. The rioters are fucking tools cringing behind black masks when they're not whinging on tumblr or in the womb-like shelter of their college lecture halls. When the riots were done, these brats dissolved and scuttled back to the Berekely campus; they returned to their dorms, to their classes; like nothing had happened. These political solipsists are the current, looming threat to every Berkeley student who huddled in their dorm rooms that night, waiting for the structure fires to die out. The black block, and its members, do not have the right to terrorize their fellow students, faculty and community. Nobody has the right to silence peaceful dissent with violence. You can and have the right to your self defense, ladies and gentlemen. Exercise it. That's all I'm saying.

Great words here and we need to stand up and not be victims to these mobs because let's face it, it they know they will get their asses kicked, they are less likely to do something stupid.

Yeah. They're gonna be fucked when they find that setting themselves on fire won't get us to cave. Bring out some popcorn and laugh maybe. Trust me, I have days where I dream of punching a SJW in the face. And if we do go to San Diego like my brother wants to this summer, I may get a chance although CA doesn't allow for attacking in the case of Self Defense. I don't know, just if something happened,  I would talk to my lawyer who wants to pick a fight out of the liberal crowd. Maybe if he can make it seem like a CA hate crime on a KY resident based off econmic status, I am sure he'd love that case...... he's the type that suing insurance companies helps him sleep at night. Pretty much Ted Nugent went to Law School.

We met him buying survival gear at our local WalMart and he is also a Class III weapons dealer and tactical instructor.

CA doesn't allow violence in self defense? (And they wonder they have some of the highest crime rates.)

Tell me, are you at all familiar with your native sport, Savate? Once upon a time, around the 18th century, Paris was one of the most criminal cities in all of Europe; muggings were the norm, and street fighting, as a result, became an informal art form. Well, eventually one guy decided to amalgamate all of the unofficial "schools" of French street fighting and that became the kick boxing martial art known today as Savate, meaning "old boot". The term coming from Savates distinction as the only kick boxing form where shoes are worn. That same martial art informs the combat regiment of the Parisian police force to this day. Had the citizens not devised this fighting system, the police couldn't use it to defend you now.

What's my point? People have every right to defend themselves; and you're woefully naive if you think you can take the police for granted. If your country's ancestors didn't fight their asses off, the French would still be bending the knee to a guy in a pointy hat. Your predecessors knew better than you the importance of self-defense. Savate doesn't just entail kick boxing, it also incorporates stick fighting; the Frenchman used their canes to fight all the time. A cane is a multi-purpose tool, like the tools I've described in my essay. They used their canes and their shoes,  just as the Irish used and still use the shillelagh; just as the Sicilians used the stiletto, which later became the iconic switch blade. I could go on, but I feel my efforts are all for naught. The point is martial arts, which include things like batons, pepper spray, and pocket knives haven't gone anywhere: they're certainly not "going back a 1,000 years ago". You need to wake up. Cops don't show up unless they're right in front of you, or you call 9-1-1. By that point, people are either beaten or dead. The attendees at these lectures have every right to defend themselves,. You need to move along if you're not going to say anything genuinely useful; which doesn't seem likely. Given our past experiences.

No I wasn't but am now...............is this not a better way than shooting people who may have not been threatening you?  What happens if your gun is knocked out of your hand accidently and the shot kills a friend? I believe if you decide to look at deaths  in the US because of gun laws 'gun ownership' the statistics for death are higher than most 'civilized' country's in the World. Is it easier to kick someone to death or to shoot them?
I would say as far as 'tear gas' is concerned.....yes take along goggles. I have had this in my face and it is very painful.

I grew up in 2 countrys as a child....neither Country' policeforce carried weapons!

'Is it easier to kick someone to death or to shoot them?' To shoot them. That's why I aim for the core; where all the vitals are. If someone tries to kill me, I kill 'em right back; because life isn't an episode of 'Kung-fu'.

Mmm, yes and no. First you have to look at our population, which is magnitudes vaster than most countries in human history. You really shouldn't compare us to other "countries", but to other empires or super powers; that is, if you want a candid and contextualized assessment of our national problems and concerns. Most countries are small fries compared to our's in terms of population, gdp, civil rights, or firepower: and all of those thing are, demonstrably and historically, inter-related. Comparing America to our hoighty-toighty neighbors across the pond is disingenuous; and those same countries, because they've never faced true diversity---meaning a mass flood of a culture completely opposite of their values---are now paying the price for their illiteracy in basic self defense.

Second, the percentage of deaths, per capita, by homicide---which gun violence is only a fraction of---is 0.025%; and it's tied with Parkinsons disease as the 15th cause of all deaths. Suicide is eleven: my country is so damn peaceful you're more likely to kill yourself than actually be mortally harmed by another human being. In a country with a 320 million person populace that kind of benevolence in its citizenry is nothing sort of miraculous; yet, it's fact as confirmed by the CDC. Do you know what is the number one killer in America? Heart and lung disease, followed by diabetes. Our diets are more deadly than our firearms; because in America, like with Europe's nonexistent teenaged drinking problem, we don't have a gun problem; because, just like Europe with alcohol, we're raised in a gun touting culture. We know how to handle a gun without shooting ourselves in the foot. America culture has more literacy with firearms than most European ones, because we recognize that, without them, we'd still be English; and the French would still be speaking German .

Oh.....is this a comparison.............NO teenage drinking problem in the US? Might I ask where you live?

You could be, too, if you actually looked at the FBI crime stats and the CDC. Instead of just assuming America is a brutish, backwards blood-soaked corpse farm populated by troglodytes; which, if memory serves, has been your previous disposition.

Noooooo. I said there's no "gun problem" in the US, just like there's no "teenaged drinking problem in Europe". That doesn't mean there aren't drunk teenagers in Europe, statistically there's bound to be; but, it's not major cause for concern. It's a negligible factor, same with gun-based homicide. It's minuscule.

You can hear it for yourself. Just use Bing for two seconds.

No. You may not. Stranger on the internet.

Mmmmay I ask what makes you think you have the social license to refer to me in the first person? I'm not calling you Jenny, am I?

But, to answer your question, yes, yes I have. Multiple times, in fact. I was a missionary, so, uh, yeah:even if I served state side, international travel and diplomacy is what you're trained to observe from the time you can crawl. My eldest brother proselyted for two years in the barrios of Buenos Aires, Argentina; my second eldest in Barcelona, Spain. My eldest sister, besides the several countries I've traveled with her, has embarked twice to the jungles of Costa Rica to study butterflies. My family and I have all been outside of the US numerous times. Some of us occupying countries in some of their most hostile and dangerous environments, preaching to cultures that principally hated and feared us; either for being Mormon, for being white, for being white AND Mormon; for being American, or for being Mormon and white AND American. But, I fail to see how my forays elsewhere are relevant in the discussion of self defense; and my assertions it is my human right to defend myself however I see fit when mortal harm is leveled against me. Especially when the police stand idly by, which they did at the Berkely riots. The incident which was the primary inspiration for my liberal umbrage and subsequent essay.

I agree with the self defence matter a visable wall of fellows armed and ready to gun you down in self defence of themselves and those who they are protecting will discourage these rioters from doing this. though will the person have what it takes to pull the trigger is a different matter. sometimes the bayonet is key to and if you have to strike down the rioter wounded to prove a point then so be it.

The "wall of meat" the BikersForTrump crowd provided were an asset during the inauguration. I've had my suspicions about them, though; but my suspicions are remote, and mostly to do with Sonny Barger's ringing endorsement of Trump on his Twitter feed.

In any case, bikers stopped "protesters" from vandalizing a statue, a national monument, in New Orleans a few months ago. No violence, just intimidation; and, honestly, prudent intimidation: a show of force sometimes is all you need.

Well, to those logic-proof few, I don't say anything: they've preempted conversation with violence, and thus necessitated violence in kind: to punctuate what, to decent folk, a timeless truism: you can do a lot of things with a bayonet, except sit on it.

It was Thomas Jefferson who said, "The Tree of Liberty must sometimes be watered with the blood of patriots and tyrants." A tyrant is some jack-hole who preempts conversation with violence.

I c though there is a way to sit on the bayonet do it with the bayonet cover on. :P with it flat on the side. :D

I know that is true and I feel that this is now the time to do it though will the people have the will to pull it off is the question.

What's to pull off? It's just individuals bringing portable weapons they can keep on their key chains or in their pockets. A pair of plastic knuckles is something you can keep in your back pack. These thugs thrive in gun-free zones, so, let's take advantage of that: bring a knife to a slap fight.
